What Wash & Iron means at Bethel
Wash & Iron is for clothes that need to go from the laundry bag straight to the office, the event, or the front door. We run the same quality wash process as Wash & Fold, then follow it with garment-specific steam pressing — calibrated per fabric type. Every garment leaves with the right crease, the right drape, and no iron marks.
How We Do It
Our process — step by step
Inspection & Stain Assessment
We check every garment for stains, fabric type, and care label instructions before it enters the wash. Stains are pre-treated with targeted spotting agents — not just thrown in and hoped for.
Premium Enzyme Wash
Same best-tier detergent, same colour-sorted, fabric-specific wash cycles as our Wash & Fold service. The iron comes after — not instead of — a proper clean.
Moisture-Optimised Drying
Garments are dried to the right moisture level before pressing — not bone dry. Slightly damp fabric takes a cleaner press with fewer passes. Over-drying creates static and makes ironing harder, not easier.
Temperature-Calibrated Steam Press
Cotton at 200°C. Silk at 110°C. Synthetics at 150°C. Wool with steam only. We don't guess. Every garment goes through at the temperature its label — or fabric type — calls for.
Final Check & Pack
Pressed garments are inspected for missed creases, water spots, or sheen (sheen = ironed at too high a temperature). Only then are they packed. We fold shirts with a board insert; formal trousers get a trouser press crease.

Every step in our process is shaped by a simple belief: quality that lasts is better than clean that doesn't.
Fabric-Specific Temperature
Ironing silk at cotton temperature destroys it. We calibrate temperature and steam level per garment type — not per batch. The extra time it takes is how we keep your clothes from ageing prematurely.
Steam, Not Just Heat
Steam relaxes fibres before pressing, making creases sharper and reducing the need for multiple heavy passes. Heavy dry ironing over the same spot flattens and weakens fabric. We steam first.
No Starch Unless Requested
Commercial starch looks crisp short-term but builds up in fabric over time, causing brittleness and discolouration. We press to shape without starch unless you explicitly request it.
Re-Press Guarantee
If a crease is missed or a garment arrives with a press mark, we collect and redo it free of charge. We'd rather do it twice right than deliver once wrong.
Sustainability is part of the standard
We use biodegradable detergents, load-proportional water dosing, energy-efficient machines, and responsible chemical waste management. Being good at laundry and being responsible about how we do it are not in conflict — they're the same thing.
